Anyone can tell a story, but even as descriptive as one can be, pictures tell what words cannot.
Pocono is absolutely beautiful, and when NASCAR invades the Pocono Mountains, it literally becomes the third largest city in the state of Pennsylvania, after Pittsburgh and Philadelphia.
The anticipation for the Pocono 400 was intense. MY anticipation to see Jonah Hill and more importantly Channing Tatum was mind-blowing. They were the Grand Marshals of the race and said the most important words in NASCAR when they gave the command for drivers to start their engines.
Channing and Jonah, as Grand Marshals, rode the pace car, too.
Prior to that, the drivers were paraded in after introductions by the military.
Prior to that, I was fortunate to meet two of the most well known car owners in NASCAR Sprint Cup today – Jack Roush and Richard Childress.
I am very fortunate to be a credentialed member of the NASCAR media… It’s a blessing to do something I have always loved – reporting sports, specifically NASCAR.
I also LOVE writing… and I can’t NOT mention my wonderful editor and friend – the founder of Drafting the Circuits – Candice Smith. Look for us to cover Pocono again in August – We can’t wait!
