American Formula 1 driver, Alexander Rossi will make his Formula 1 debut in Singapore for Manor Racing. John Booth, team boss of Manor Racing was excited to bring Rossi back to the Manor fold.
Alexander Rossi rejoins Manor racing for 5 of 7 races
“We are delighted to sign Alexander as Race Driver. He is widely-regarded as a driver who is on the cusp of an exciting F1 career and his current form in the GP2 Series has done much to reinforce his clear potential. With that in mind, we are pleased to support his current GP2 commitments while he continues to battle for the championship win, therefore he will race in five of the seven remaining Grands Prix this season, with Roberto contesting Russia and Abu Dhabi for us.
Rossi has had a every successful year running with Racing Engineering in GP2 and is currently in 2nd place in the championship standings. Rossi grabbed consecutive wins in GP2 at Spa and Monza.
Rossi is looking to parlay his success in GP2 into a full time F1 ride
Of the 5 races that Rossi will run, one will be his home Grand Prix at Circuit of the Americas.
